Hey, all!
For those who don’t know me, my name is Jace McCloy and I’m a singer-songwriter from Lansing, Michigan. I’ve been writing for 15 years, performing for over 20, and teaching voice for over 3. I have 2 albums, 1 EP, and 3 singles available on all platforms, and I’ve performed in various theaters and venues in Michigan, Illinois, New York, and Indiana.
This is the first of many blog posts recounting important things I’ve learned throughout my music career thus far. My experiences have been filled with incredible discoveries that I wish I would’ve known earlier on. They helped tremendously in all aspects of my journey, whether it be singing, acting, lyric writing, composing, or arranging.
The reason I’m doing this blog series is because I want to offer a different perspective. One size doesn’t necessarily fit all, especially when it comes to the arts. For most of my vocal education, I was only taught how to sing classical and golden age because of my deep voice. My heart was in pop music and musical theatre, but I was always told I wouldn’t be marketable in those genres. As time went on, I realized that’s not true and I found my way into the industry I love. I’ll expound on this in upcoming posts.
You’ll learn techniques used by some of the greats, including Billy Joel, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Stephen Sondheim, Ed Sheeran, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Raul Esparza, and more. These little tools made a big difference and helped bring my craft to a higher level, and if they can do the same for you, then mission accomplished. I love helping others grow and succeed, which is also why I want to share what I’ve learned.
If you want to know what these tools are, then I can’t wait to take you all on this incredible journey.
Thanks for reading. Until next time! :)
So excited for you brotha !!!!! You are going to help so many people, as much as yourself 💙💙💙
Love this ♥️
